How we verify every number.
We separate what a car has done from what a maker says it will do. Manufacturer claims are listed but never ranked. Records need a documented run. Every page carries the date it was last checked.

The claim rule
A car marked announced or prototype appears in the database with its figures labelled as manufacturer targets, and is excluded from every ranking on this site. It enters the rankings when a production car has been independently timed. This costs us headline entries — a claimed sub-two-second launch always looks good in a list — and it is the whole reason the lists can be trusted.
What counts as a record
- Top speed — a documented run on a facility built for it (a high-speed oval or salt flat), with the car, date and venue on record. We label each run as production, limited series, prototype or streamliner, because a one-off track car and a customer car are not the same claim.
- Acceleration — 0–100 km/h as measured on production cars. Where sources disagree, we take the conservative figure.
- Lap times — timed laps of the full Nordschleife, with production and prototype runs listed separately.
- Quarter mile — best widely documented run per car. Strip results shift with surface and weather, so we treat differences under a tenth of a second as noise, not ranking.
Sources
Primary: manufacturer technical specifications and official record announcements. Secondary: independent instrumented tests and timing published by established motoring outlets. Where a manufacturer figure and an independent measurement conflict, we publish the independent one and note the difference. Every car page links its sources.
Scope
The database covers fully electric hypercars, supercars and super saloons: two-seat performance cars and four-doors with hypercar-level output. No SUVs, no hybrids, no conversions. Cars whose makers have folded stay listed — a dead project is part of the record.
Updates and corrections
Records fall. When one does, we update the record page and the car page in the same pass and move the "last verified" date. Spotted an error or a run we missed? Email apply@umbrarally.com with a source and we will correct it — corrections are logged in the page's update date, not quietly overwritten.
