Edition One is a journey, not a race: one long, adventurous route from a start city to a finish city, crossing Europe with a capped grid of electric hypercars and supercars. The reward is the route, the machines and the company — not a stopwatch.
How the days run
Totality — the Silent Grid
In the start city — and again in selected stop cities — the full grid lines up in a signature square. A countdown. Then every car leaves in one wave, in silence. In an eclipse, totality is the moment the light fully disappears; ours is the moment the noise does. And it is legal in a way no revving flash-mob ever was.
The Path of Totality
Eclipse chasers cross countries to stand in the umbra's path; so does this grid. A day's drive to the next stop: mountain passes, coast roads, border crossings. Untimed, unscored, under normal traffic law. Telemetry rides along in every car; driving like the route is a leaderboard gets you sent home. There is nothing to win out here — by design.
The evening
Charging becomes the campfire. The grid gathers — owners, builders, guests — while the cars do the one loud thing they ever do: nothing. Cities get a static show of the fastest machines on Earth, for free.
The finish
After several countries, the route ends where it aimed: the finish city, one last Silent Grid, and the only ranking that exists in Edition One — who was there.

The lesson of 2007
A fatal crash during a public-road rally in 2007 ended any appetite manufacturers had for that format. The conclusion is structural: competition and public roads don't mix. Edition One draws the hardest possible line — no competition anywhere. Nothing on the route is timed, scored or rewarded.
The road ahead
Future editions add competition where it belongs: behind barriers. Knock-out acceleration brackets, gymkhana duels and ghost runs on closed terrain — existing strips and airfields first, city arenas when host cities and OEMs carry them. Points will never touch a public road.
